Breaking the Ice

by Lisa Lipkind Leibow, Author of Smart Women’s Fiction

My three sons came home from the first day of school, itching to tell me tidbits of new classes, new teachers, friends, and more.

Thing 1 ripped open a bag of chips. “In science, to break the ice, the teacher went around the room and had each of us introduce ourselves by saying our name and one interesting fact about ourselves. I raised my hand to go first. ‘I have something interesting! I’m a twin.’ Turns out, that wasn’t all that interesting. Six other kids in the class were twins and one was a quadruplet! Can you believe that?!”

What are the chances of that? Leave a comment. Share one interesting fact that makes you feel unique (or not…). Ha!

Fantastic read! I have got one suggestion for your webpage. It seems like there are some style sheet troubles when opening a number of web pages in google chrome and opera. It is operating fine in internet explorer. Maybe you can double check that. I have just bookmarked this content on delicious.com to get several more readers to your site.

I was wondering if you ever considered changing the layout of your blog? Its very well written; I love what youve got to say. But maybe you could a little more in the way of content so people could connect with it better. Youve got an awful lot of text for only having one or two images. Maybe you could space it out better?

Great points…I would note that as someone who really doesn’t write on blogs much (in fact, this may be my first post), I don’t think the term “lurker” is very flattering to a non-posting reader. It’s not your fault in the least , but perhaps the blogosphere could come up with a better, non-creepy name for the 90% of us that enjoy reading the content .

I think one of your adverts caused my web browser to resize, you may well want to put that on your blacklist.

This is a smart blog. I mean it. You have so much knowledge about this issue, and so much passion. You also know how to make people rally behind it, obviously from the responses. Youve got a design here thats not too flashy, but makes a statement as big as what youre saying. Great job, indeed.
