SPECIAL EVENT INVITATION!

WASHINGTON COUNTY READING DAY!

Date: Saturday, May 1, 2010

Place: Valley Mall, Hagerstown, Maryland

Time: 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Each year the Library joins with the Valley Mall, Partners in Literacy, and
the Board of Education to celebrate Reading on the first Saturday in May.
Reading Day is held this year on May 1 at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown from
10:00 am to approximately 2:00 pm.

Historically this event has centered on children as the organizers give away in the
vicinity of 600 children’s books. Last year and again this year the Board of
Education is providing books for this giveaway. Come out to see the magician, a
costume parade, storytellers, and activities throughout the mall. The
Washington County Teen Idol winners close the event with a musical
performance.

This year Reading Day is expanded the program and invited me and other area authors who write
for other than the children’s audience to also join us for this event. I’ll be there to answer questions, read from my work, and sell and sign coupons to download Double Out and Back.

I hope to see you there! If you’re in the area, don’t miss it!

Gallery Reading in the Press and Don’t Miss Lisa At Reading Day

I made the papers! My recent emotional experience, reading from my short story Forbidden Passion, at the Target Gallery is featured in two newspapers!

Also, I’ll be a special guest author at Washington County, Maryland’s Reading Day at the Valley Mall in Hagerstown, Maryland on Saturday, May 1st. If you’re in the area, stop by to see me. It should be a great event!

MY FIRST BOOK SIGNING EVENT – ALBANY, SEPT. 2009

Sorry it took me so long to post these photos! Things have been so busy on the Double Out and Back Virtual Tour ’09 that I haven’t had a chance to fill you in on my live appearances. My publisher set up a fantastic event at the Borders Books, Crossgates Mall in Albany, New York. Six, Red Rose authors, including me, had a blast meeting fans, signing books and cd’s of e-books, and taking Albany by storm.

A few lucky purchasers took home their own teddy bear wearing a t-shirt with the Double Out and Back or other Red Rose covers.

Not only did this event help to get the word out about my debut novel and other Red Rose titles, it was a great opportunity for me to get to know some of my fellow authors – a spectacular group of ladies. Pictured from left to right: Nika Dixon, Debbie Gould, LaVerne Thompson, Sam Cheever, Pat McDermott, and yours truly, Lisa Lipkind Leibow.

National Book Festival 2009

I had a fantastic time at the National Book Festival on Saturday, September 27, 2009. I volunteered this year and was assigned to the Fiction and Fantasy Tent — the perfect place for me! I got to meet John Grisham, Jodi Picoult, and Jeanette Walls.
Keep an eye out on Book TV (C-Span) for any replays of the event. Each of the authors who spoke during the morning was spectacular. But you also might be able to spot me, as I was assigned to monitor questions from the audience. So, I stood next to the microphone and assited with the transition from one question to the next. It was a great morning all around!

I even got the chance to sneak away to the Poetry and Prose tent to visit my mentor and friend Julia Glass. Check out this photo of us. This one is going on my website, for sure!
I can’t wait until next year!
